Bhakti — love, worship, and refuge — 113 verses, starred ones first.

  1. 1.47 Bow down, arrows scattered, warrior collapsed — this is where the Gita begins.
  2. 6.30 Who sees Me everywhere and all in Me — I am never lost to that one, nor that one to Me.
  3. 6.47 Of all yogis, the one whose inner self is merged in Me, worshipping with śraddhā — that one I hold to be most united.
  4. 7.14 This divine māyā of Mine, made of the guṇas, is hard to cross — but those who take refuge in Me alone do cross it.
  5. 7.19 At the end of many births, the wise takes refuge in Me — 'Vāsudeva is all.' That great soul is exceedingly rare.
  6. 9.22 For those who worship Me with undivided thought, always steadfast — I carry what they lack and guard what they have.
  7. 9.26 A leaf, a flower, a fruit, a drop of water — offered with devotion, I receive it: the striving heart's gift is enough.
  8. 9.27 Whatever you do, eat, offer, give, or practise as austerity — do it all as mad-arpaṇam, an offering to Me.
  9. 9.30 Even if the most sinful worships Me with undivided devotion — he must be deemed righteous, for he has rightly resolved.
  10. 9.32 Even women, vaiśyas, śūdras of lower birth — taking complete refuge in Me — attain the supreme goal, O Pārtha.
  11. 9.34 Fix mind on Me, be My devotee, worship Me, bow to Me — thus, with Me as supreme goal, you shall come to Me.
  12. 10.8 I am the origin of all; from Me all evolves — knowing this, the wise worship Me with loving devotion.
  13. 11.55 Do My work, hold Me supreme, be My devotee, attachment-free, without enmity toward all — such a one comes to Me!
  14. 12.13 Not hating, friendly, compassionate, without 'mine' or 'I', equal in pain and joy, forgiving — the dear devotee!
  15. 14.26 Whoever serves Me with unswerving avyabhicāriṇī bhakti transcends all three guṇas and becomes fit for Brahman.
  16. 14.27 Krishna declares: 'I am the ground of Brahman — the Immortal, the Immutable, eternal Dharma, and perfect Bliss.'
  17. 18.54 Brahman-become, serene, neither grieving nor desiring, equal to all beings — he attains supreme bhakti to Me.
  18. 18.61 The Lord dwells in the heart of all beings — whirling all, as if mounted on a machine, by His māyā.
  19. 18.65 Mind-in-Me, devotee, worshiper, bow to Me — you will come to Me; truly I promise, you are dear to Me.
  20. 18.66 Abandon all dharmas, take refuge in Me alone — I will liberate you from all sins; do not grieve.
  21. 2.7 I am your student. My mind is bewildered about what is right. Teach me.
  22. 4.24 Instrument, offering, fire, act, destination — all Brahman. One absorbed in Brahman-action reaches Brahman alone.
  23. 6.14 Peaceful, fearless, vowed to brahmacharya, mind on Krishna — yoked in practice, with the Supreme as the final goal.
  24. 6.31 Established in unity, worshipping Me as dwelling in all beings — whatever the mode of life, that yogi abides in Me.
  25. 7.1 With mind attached, practising yoga, taking refuge in Me — hear how you shall know Me fully, without doubt.
  26. 7.16 Four kinds of virtuous persons worship Me: the distressed, the seeker, the ends-seeker, and the wise.
  27. 7.17 Of the four, the jñānī excels — ever steadfast, one-pointed: I am supremely dear to the wise; the wise is dear to Me.
  28. 7.21 Whatever form a devotee seeks to worship with śraddhā — that very faith I make unwavering.
  29. 7.23 The fruit of those of little understanding is finite — god-worshippers go to the gods; My devotees come to Me.
  30. 7.28 Those whose sin has ended — virtuous in deed, freed from dvandva-delusion — worship Me with firm resolve.
  31. 7.29 Taking refuge in Me for liberation from old age and death — they know Brahman, Adhyātma, and all of Karma.
  32. 8.13 Uttering OM — the single syllable of Brahman — departing while meditating on Me, one reaches the highest goal.
  33. 18.55 By bhakti one truly knows what and who I am; then knowing Me truly, one enters into Me immediately.
  34. 18.73 Destroyed is my delusion, memory restored by Your grace — I stand firm, free of doubt, and will do Your word.
  35. 1.20 Arjuna lifts his bow — then pauses. The crisis begins here.
  36. 1.46 The bow falls. The warrior sinks. Chapter 1 ends where the Gita's teaching must begin.
  37. 2.34 Dishonor lasts longer than death — and for the one who has been honored, disgrace is worse than dying.
  38. 2.36 Your enemies will mock your strength — what pain is greater than that?
  39. 2.61 Control all senses, sit in yoga focused on the Supreme — that one's wisdom stands unshakable.
  40. 3.30 Surrender all action to Me, mind on the Self, free from hope and possessiveness — then fight, free from fever.
  41. 4.3 I give you this ancient yoga today because you are My devotee and friend — this is the supreme secret.
  42. 4.12 Those seeking results worship the gods who grant results. Quick success comes from action in the human world.
  43. 5.10 Surrendering all actions to Brahman, abandoning attachment — like a lotus leaf, sin never clings.
  44. 7.15 The evildoer, the deluded, the lowest of men, those whose knowledge māyā has stolen — these do not take refuge in Me.
  45. 7.20 Wisdom stolen by desire: they worship other deities, following various rites, driven by their own nature.
  46. 7.22 With that faith, the devotee worships that deity and gains the desired objects — these being dispensed by Me alone.
  47. 8.10 At the hour of death — mind fixed in yoga, devotion, prāṇa between the eyebrows — one attains the supreme divine Puruṣa.
  48. 8.22 The Supreme Puruṣa — in whom all beings abide, by whom all is pervaded — is attained by undivided devotion alone.
  49. 9.4 By Me, in unmanifest form, all this world is pervaded — all beings are in Me, but I do not dwell in them.
  50. 9.8 Projecting this vast multitude from My own prakriti again and again — I animate them, helpless under prakriti's sway.
  51. 9.10 Under My supervision, prakriti produces all that moves and is unmoving — by this cause, the world revolves.
  52. 9.11 Fools in human form disregard Me, not knowing My supreme nature as the great Lord of all beings.
  53. 9.13 The mahātmās of divine nature worship Me with undivided mind, knowing Me as the immutable origin of all beings.
  54. 9.14 Ever glorifying Me, striving with firm resolve, bowing in devotion, always steadfast — they worship Me.
  55. 9.15 Others worship Me as one, as distinct, as manifold — through the jñāna-yajña of knowing the All-form.
  56. 9.18 I am the Goal, Lord, Witness, Abode, Refuge, Friend — and the Origin, Dissolution, Seed imperishable.
  57. 9.23 Even devotees of other gods who worship with faith — they too worship Me, though not by the ordained method, O Arjuna.
  58. 9.25 Worshippers of gods go to gods; of ancestors, to ancestors; of spirits, to spirits — My worshippers come to Me.
  59. 9.29 I am the same toward all beings — none hateful nor dear to Me — but My devotees are in Me, and I am in them.
  60. 9.31 Quickly he becomes righteous and attains eternal peace — declare it, O Kuntī's son: My devotee is never destroyed.
  61. 9.33 How much more the holy brāhmaṇas and devoted royal sages! This world is transient and joyless — worship Me.
  62. 10.9 Mind on Me, life surrendered to Me — awakening each other, always speaking of Me — they are content and rejoice.
  63. 10.10 To those ever-steadfast who worship Me with love — I give that yoga of wisdom by which they come to Me.
  64. 10.12 You are Parabrahm — supreme abode, great purifier, eternal, divine, unborn, all-pervading — the Primordial God!
  65. 10.18 Tell me again in full of Your yoga and vibhūtis, O Janārdana — I am never sated hearing Your nectar-speech.
  66. 10.30 Among Daityas I am Prahlāda; among measurers, Time; among beasts, the lion; and among birds, Garuḍa.
  67. 11.1 My delusion is gone — dispersed by Your compassionate words on the Self and its deep mysteries.
  68. 11.8 Your natural eyes cannot see Me — I give you the divine eye; behold My supreme Yoga-power.
  69. 11.18 You are the Imperishable, the Supreme — Refuge of all, undying Guardian of Eternal Dharma, Ancient Puruṣa.
  70. 11.38 Primal God, Ancient Puruṣa, supreme Refuge — Knower and Known and supreme Abode — by You is this universe pervaded!
  71. 11.44 Prostrating my body, I seek Your grace — as father forgives son, friend friend, beloved beloved — O Lord, forgive!
  72. 11.47 Through My own yogic power I showed you this radiant, infinite, primeval cosmic form — which no one else has ever seen!
  73. 11.48 Not by Vedas, sacrifice, gifts, rituals, or harsh austerities can this form be seen in human worlds — only by you!
  74. 11.54 Through undivided devotion alone can I be known, seen, and entered into — ananyā bhakti is the path, O Parantapa!
  75. 12.1 Which devotees are best in yoga — those who worship You with devotion, or those who worship the Imperishable Unmanifest?
  76. 12.2 Those who fix their mind in Me and worship with supreme śraddhā — these I consider the most perfectly yoked!
  77. 12.3 Those who worship the Imperishable Unmanifest — all-pervading, inconceivable, kūṭastha, immovable, eternal, stable...
  78. 12.6 Offer all actions to Me alone, worship through undivided yoga — the mat-parāḥ hold Me as their supreme goal.
  79. 12.11 Unable even to act for My sake? Then take refuge in Me, abandon all fruits of action — with self-restraint.
  80. 12.14 Ever-content, ever-yoked, self-controlled, firm in resolve, mind-intellect offered to Me — he is My dear devotee!
  81. 12.15 He who neither troubles the world nor is troubled by it — free from joy, envy, fear, anxiety — he is dear to Me!
  82. 12.16 Unconcerned, pure, capable, uninvolved, without distress, renouncing all self-initiated undertakings — My dear devotee!
  83. 12.17 No thrill, no hatred, no grief, no craving — renouncing both good and evil — this full-devotee is dear to Me!
  84. 12.19 Equal in blame and praise, silent, content with anything, homeless, steady-minded, devoted — that man is dear to Me!
  85. 13.11 Unswerving devotion to Krishna, love of solitude, aversion to crowds — these three close the 20 jñāna qualities!
  86. 13.19 The field, knowledge, and the Knowable stated — the devotee who grasps all three attains Krishna's own nature.
  87. 13.26 Others who simply worship as heard from others — they too cross beyond death, devoted to what they heard.
  88. 14.25 Equal in honor and disgrace, equal to friend and foe, abandoning all undertakings — he has gone beyond guṇas.
  89. 15.4 After cutting the tree, seek the no-return abode — taking refuge in the Primordial Puruṣa, source of all.
  90. 15.19 Knowing Me as Puruṣottama without delusion, one becomes all-knowing and worships Me with whole being.
  91. 16.18 Taking refuge in ego, power, arrogance, kāma, krodha — they hate Me in their own bodies and in others.
  92. 17.2 Śraddhā of the embodied is threefold — born of svabhāva (one's own nature): sāttvikī, rājasī, tāmasī. Hear this.
  93. 17.4 Sāttvic worship Devas; rājasic worship Yakṣas/Rākṣasas; tāmasic worship pretas and bhūta-hosts.
  94. 17.13 Tāmasic yajña: against ordinance, no food-sharing, no mantras, no dakṣiṇā, no śraddhā — declared tāmasic.
  95. 17.18 Rājasic tapas: done for reception, honour, worship, and show — unstable and transient.
  96. 18.37 Sāttvic sukha: poison-like at first, nectar-like at the end — born of the clarity of Self-knowing intellect.
  97. 18.45 Devoted each to his own duty, a person attains complete perfection — hear how one so devoted finds siddhi.
  98. 18.46 From whom all beings arise, by whom all is pervaded — worshiping THAT through one's own duty, one attains perfection.
  99. 18.49 The unattached-minded, self-conquered, desire-free one attains supreme naiskarmya-siddhi through sannyāsa.
  100. 18.50 Learn briefly from Me how one who has attained siddhi attains Brahman — the supreme culmination of knowledge.
  101. 18.51 Endued with pure buddhi, regulating self with dhṛti, renouncing sense-objects, setting aside rāga-dveṣa —
  102. 18.52 Frequenting solitude, eating lightly, restraining speech-body-mind, always in dhyāna-yoga, fully in vairāgya —
  103. 18.56 Even doing all actions always, with refuge in Me — by My grace one attains the eternal imperishable abode.
  104. 18.57 Mentally offering all actions to Me, with Me as highest — resorting to buddhi-yoga, always be mind-in-Me.
  105. 18.58 With mind in Me, by My grace you will cross all obstacles; but from egotism if you will not hear, you will perish.
  106. 18.59 If from egotism you think 'I will not fight' — vain is this resolve; Prakṛti will compel you.
  107. 18.60 Bound by your svabhāva-born karma, what from delusion you don't wish to do — you will do even helplessly.
  108. 18.62 Take refuge in THAT with all your being, O Bharata — by His grace: supreme peace and the eternal abode.
  109. 18.64 Hear again My supreme word, most secret of all — because you are deeply beloved to Me, I will speak your benefit.
  110. 18.67 This teaching is never to be given to the non-ascetic, non-devotee, non-service-minded, or one who criticizes Me.
  111. 18.68 Whoever teaches this supreme secret among My devotees, with supreme bhakti — comes to Me without doubt.
  112. 18.70 Whoever studies this sacred dialogue — by him I shall have been worshipped by jñāna-yajña; such is My conviction.
  113. 18.75 Through Vyāsa's grace, I heard this supreme secret Yoga directly from Krishna, the Lord of Yoga, speaking Himself.
